Just measured my 91 GT fender height and sitting at 26". If 27" ~ 190mm ride height then 26" is about 165mm .....rides/handles very well , no bottoming out. running 18"x 8" wide 225/40/18 tires in front.

You might take pictures of the suspension setup with the wheels off, and post them
then loosen the rear bolts about 2 turns on the front lower control arm and the lower shock mounts,
put the car on the ground and drive for a few miles and tighten the bolts back up without raising the car.

NOTE the shock mount bolts may have to be tightened with a wheel up on a curb while you lay on the ground
Then put about 300 miles on it and see how it settles.

Guys,

I got the suspension settled down nice. Will post pictures later. Many thanks to Mark and Carl for their help.

GT, hilarious on that Venetian blue. That's a nice car, but that particular car has too many mods, is an auto, is missing it's front spoiler and the carpets are all wrong. I think I literally got the closest one available.

I think Venetian Blue / light gray is fairly common among the production years. It's not guards red or polar silver, but they are out there. Venetian Blue with light gray AND a five speed seems to be exceedingly rare. All of the above plus blue piping on the seats.....only ever seen it once :-)

My ride-height story, for what it's worth:

My car is too low - I forget the measurements, but it hits bottom far too easily. I tried very hard to adjust the collars on the front struts a few years ago, but they were locked from corrosion. I believe this is a common problem.

With my rear end out of the car right now, with springs removed, I was able to raise the perches a half-inch. I'd assumed those collars would be frozen, too, but no. Now I need to adjust the fronts. I have "new" collars to fit on them, but perhaps I'll first try putting spring compressors on the spring, in situ, to reduce the friction in the threads.

This is a good time here for messing with ride height - the frost heaves will settle the suspension very quickly.

In my case the suspension issue was two fold. First of all, the suspension on a stock 928 is nothing like the one on the Devore car or any of my other cars - all of them are coilover / monoball, etc etc.

Mark Anderson brought to my attention that there was a little bit of thread showing under the front spring perches. I took this to mean that they were almost at the highest setting, in fact there was a ton of thread to go.

Carl Fausett pointed out that the front of the car was most likely worked on by a non 928 type, and that there was most likely preload in the front LCA bushings.

I lowered the spring perches a good chunk, then slightly loosened the lower LCA bushings and drove around the block.

After both were done, car sits perfect. Not lowered, just per spec.

Thanks to Carl and Mark again, both of whom know these cars in and out.

Had a couple free days within the move, so I decided to pull the intake and valve covers and do an intake refresh. Not only was the powdercoating nasty, both valve covers were seeping oil. Also, the car suffered from a high warm idle; ran fine, but the idle was not right. So I tore into it. Had the valve covers re-powdercoated, took every part off that was yellow cad plated and had it redone. Also replaced injectors, hoses, ISV, all gaskets, fuel dampers, etc. Idle is PERFECT now.

Still missing a couple new hose clamps, but I am pretty much there now.

The mandate on this build is not to make it concours.....the mandate is to make it look like it did in 1990; slightly used, not perfect, but typical of a couple year old car.

Thank you! The longest part of an intake refresh is waiting for the zinc plater and powdercoater!
