Cool 928S Transformer - Cool

My son has been asking me for the last couple of days what was in green box in his closet, so this evening I got the box down and found my old Transformers. To my surprise at the bottom of the box, I found a 928S!!

Sweet! I grew up on those and never knew there was a 928. What was it's name? And c'mon man, let's see that thing transformed!

I've got a couple 928 "Transformers"

Super Go-Bots

Not sure if the blue one is a Bandai or not. Red one is not a Transformer (its a Road Champs)

Sweet!

That would be a first generation Decepticon named 'Dead End.' One of the 'Stunticons'.

Don't judge me, I had a proper 80's misspent youth.

Haha! That wiki page description of Dead End is hilarious! My guess is the guy that developed the character and his background owned a basket case 928 and that ownership experience turned him suicidal. Just read that description. I'm sure alot of 928 owners can relate.

"Dead End is a Decepticon Stunticon from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Life! Don't talk to me about life.Dead End knows that his having an entry in some database somewhere hardly matters. The page will be vandalized. The computers will eventually fail. The data will be lost. The species that made it will go extinct. Their planet will become barren. The sun will die out. All suns will die out. The universe will implode again, or expand into nothingness, or be eaten by a giant evil space-god. So what's the point?

Despite this deep knowledge of the dark, inevitable pointlessness of existence, he spends an inordinate amount of time polishing and primping himself. This is something the other Decepticons are sure to tease him about whenever they get the chance, which only depresses him more. If you can actually motivate him to fight, he's a fearless warrior and actually cheers up a little, since trying to save his own life can momentarily distract him from how ultimately brief and pointless it is; the hard trick is getting him motivated in the first place, since in the end we're all doomed. Sigh."

Nate, I thought that as well. 😝
Did you note the part about always staying primped and polished? Yep, 928.

I had not found a reference to his name (and that information has long since left my memory). Thanks for the research. The description is perfect.

Here is Dead End transformed and with his turret. He should have a gun as well. I'll have to do some digging and see if I can find it.
