If you are ever in the Pittsburgh area, stop by and I'll let you sample mine.
Ed- that’s an amazing offer I will probably take you up on. I am headed that way in a few weeks but not sure I have a spare few hours, but I will see what I can do.

Claiming this as original says he is inexperienced in these cars or hasn't dealt with a knowledgeable buyer.
While new to 928’s, I’m not new to Porsche’s and my particular passion is all original true condition #1&2 cars. They are out there, just rare, rarely on the open market and you have to move quick and be willing to pay the $$. I am busy soaking up the collective knowledge here and have my feelers out in all my usual places. I have been offered a few really good cars but have either been a color I’m not interested in, a little too late model or missing a 3rd pedal. Again the hunt and the learning is half the fun.

Nathan, if you’re over on the west side today there’s a lunchtime gathering of local 928s at The Shop at noon...:-)

^ Yep. I'll be there with my 2-pedal car. Lol. You should swing by. Looks like it'll be a nice little gathering.

Wish I could! Do you guys get together on a regular basis? If so I will come next time as long as you don’t mind the Porsche I drive has the motor in the wrong spot and doesn’t have enough spark plugs...

Haha. No problem. Before I got my 928 running I was showing up at the gatherings in my wife's 2000 Toyota 4Runner. Most of the PNW 928 events are posted on the PNW 928 Yahoo group site. Join the group page and you'll be on the email string.

Nathan - Welcome to the shark tank! The knowledge base on this board is incredibly deep and the people here go out of their way to help - just a great group of enthusiasts. Best of luck in your search!

Seeing the photo of that rear end and then the seller claiming it's near mint and everything is original is reason enough to run from that one.
Everyone's a critic. But - you have one to offer up?

Stuff can unbolt. couple 8mm and 10mm and some old bits to put on in place.

I'm sure I can find quite a few examples of cars that need a full restoration, which he clearly doesn't want.
While the S4 bumper can unbolt, putting back the quarter panel sheet metal that was cut away won't be as easy.

Lurking here for months is absolutely the smartest thing you can do to get the best car at the best price at the right time. Drive as many as you can, too. Were I thou I wouldn't dismiss the RogerBox cars out of hand or exclude them from test diving - oops, test driving. (Risky Business Freudian slip there maybe. Though sometimes a typo is just a typo.)

Have fun and GLWS & P.

I wonder what's tougher to find, nice Pasha interior or an early manual with working syncros?

Many of the very earliest cars are represented here with threads on various stages of restoration. None are I think ever to be sold, but very nice early models do show up if you put the word out and have money ready to buy.

Both can be serviced, trans by GB and Pasha by RB (as long as it's not brown/black - that's NLA)...but do it before they retire...
