What are you wanting to do with it Justin? I might be able to give you a few people to try over here, if Mark can't help. Don't necessarily rule out a US motor .... less expensive motor + higher freight ... more expensive here + less local (maybe) freight. May not be as much difference as you think.

I have a early 928 (1980 I think ?) with no engine. The guy I bought it off took the engine out years ago and then proceeded to lose it in a move.
So, it sits there with no engine.
I do not give a rats proverbial about "correctness". I just want an engine in there so it will move under its own steam. 4.5, 4.7, 5.0, I don't care.
I'm cost sensitive for this one though. If it's too much I might just part it out.
I dunno.
I'm hearing you about the local costs though. I don't buy anything locally when I can help it.
These days it's much, much better value sourcing from OS wherever possible.
Never bought an engine though

I just spent $205 to mail 14lbs (8 old warm up regulators) through DHL. They went to Queensland. Small package but expensive. Don’t know a cheaper way. From North Carolina

I'm on the East Coast of the US, but will be parting out an 84 with the 16v motor with 84,000 miles on it.
Car was in an accident when it was parked, but the owner said it was running before the accident.
Shoot me a PM if interested, it'll be a bit under $2000

Just PM'ed you with the phone number of Matt in Sydney who has been dealing in used 928 bits for years. (he's also the local JDS agent and carries bits from 928intl etc.)
