My German is rusty but this list gives metrics of some of the electrical components. Something like "Did you know what's in the Porsche 928". 33 electic motors? Wow is that true? Can we name them all? I can only think of 13: wiper motors front and rear, headlight motor; AC flapper motor, tailgate release motor, windshield wiper fluid pump motor; headlight wiper fluid pump motor; up down driver and passenger seat motors, fwd aft driver and passenger seat motors, driver and passenger seat recline motors. What are the other 20?

Here are a few more. Drive and passenger window motors, side mirror motors (not sure how many), sunroof motor and driver and passenger door lock motors/solenoids.

Ha, yeah the starter..duh! Funny how my brain just thought of small motors hidden out of sight when I tried to think of them.
So that's an additional 3 more for a total of 23. Only 10 more to go!

Burning Brakes
Cool photos.
There is the antenna motor, aux AC fan, HVAC blower, intensive washer (3 pumps total in the washer system), interior temp sensor (for which you 3D print covers for),
Questionable: cruise control, antilock brakes, AC air valve, aux air valve (for cold start), euro headlight leveling system (but I think in this time period they were hydraulic?).

Three Wheelin'
For the time frame estimates, the poster in lower right corner of #38 looks like the 1982 1000km of SPA (5/9/82) race poster. Great pics! I love the old factory photos.

Did you know that the Porsche 928 has...
1000 electrical connections,
33 electric motors,
800 meters of cable with a total weight of 15 kg,
36 fuses and
21 relays?

I find this one interesting, shows how the panels were mounted for painting.

RE: the time frame question, that poster narrows helps confirm some of my observations. I'm pretty certain its the 1983 production year. So photos should have been between October 1982 and September 1983. The Guards Red 944 is a US market car from what I can tell. It has no side marker on the fender near the door.
Since photos show the 911s are SC models (1983 is the last production year) and the 944 is a US model (1983 was first production year).I feel pretty confident photos were taken between the Fall of 1982 and late summer 1983.
Going one step further, we see guys in shorts and a few not wearing a shirt. Given average temperatures reported for Stuttgart (http://www.holiday-weather.com/stuttgart/averages/) I'd be willing to bet we are looking at mid summer of 1983 , June, July, or August.
