I am fixing my early 86 and need some help figuring out where the ground strap on the passenger side of the engine goes. It is currently missing so I am not sure the location. I believe it connects to the engine hook but not sure where it connects on the apron. The previous owner had some interesting repairs.

I'm not sure on those years but on my '84 it is located on the side of the block and then goes over to the fender like is shown here....

I imagine this is the same location on your car.

Sorry I meant the ground strap on the passenger side head. I think it is specific to the 32 valve engines.

This strap goes from the lifting hook to the coil securing bolt

These are from my 1986.5:




One end of ground cable goes under passenger's side coil bracket mounting screw.






Ground cable loops up and behind harness.






Other end of ground cable goes to the lifting eye on the passenger's side cylinder head.






Eye of ground cable terminal goes under P-clip for harness on lifting eye.
