Default Looking for Seattle 928 Mechanic

I'm purchasing a 1983 928S that has been sitting in a garage for about 5 years and need a mechanic in the Seattle area. Any suggestions for trust worthy mechanics?

I have also heard good things about Leif but I am not sure how active he is. I left a couple messages for him last summer and never got a call back.

I take my car up to Colin Jensan (Lizard928 on RL) in Abbotsford BC. He's about 2.5 hours from my place in West Seattle, but he is one of the few 928 gurus around. I recommend giving him a shout, cjensan@gmail.com

Congrats on the purchase. I assume this is your first 928? If you are free Sunday the 28th at noon you should stop down at Derby restaurant at the Shop. We are having a PNW get together and there will be a few of us with our cars there. Good to meet some of the faces you will see posting on here from time to time.

Leif travels as a crew chief for a race team based on the East Coast so he is often gone, but there ain't anyone with more knowledge than Leif in Seattle as it relates to 928's. Feel free to PM me if you need help contacting him as I will be at his place tonight.

This is my first 928. Appreciate the warm welcome.

Is Leif at Autowerks NW in Portland, OR ? I see that his number is Western Washington, but when I google Autowerks NW, it shows a shop in Portland.

Found Auto Works NW in Woodinville. I'll give them a ring once I finalize the purchase.

I suggest you go and listen to the intro for the Twilight Zone several times........ much applies to the journey you are about to embark upon.

Leif did the PPI for my 928 and I had him repair a few things for me before the car was shipped to NJ (motor mounts, oil pan gasket, hatch release, sunroof , and a few other things). Highly recommended, straight shooter.

Leif (Autowerks Northwest in Woodinville) has done a couple of minor things on my car (including a clutch master cyl a couple of weeks ago). He mentioned that he's easing into retirement and he may avoid bigger jobs and only do smaller stuff now. Best to call him and ask about your specific needs and his current workload.

Concur with others on Leif Johnson. Did a PPI on an '91 GT back 3 years ago for me and spent plenty of time on the phone explaining details. He also told me at that time that he was traveling to Florida for Sarasota? in Feb. So catch him before he leaves?

Chris's German Auto in Redmond. been using them for years. the guy that works on 928s was a dealer tech for 25 years and actually likes working on them. the last few times i've taken a car to them there's always a 928 in the park lot or in the shop.
