That's the cap, not the cover. Cover is a boxy looking thing. Roger has them for less than $10.

It also looks like your hatch receiver insert is broken.

It actually is important.
Maybe not "life and death" important, but it keeps any water drips off of the 14 pin. Corrosion on that can be an issue.

It's also a rather effective measure of how detailed the care of the car has been.
Undertrays are somewhat similar.

Did the tech make sure to put everything back correctly?
Using the correct hardware? (in the case of the undertray)

And besides, we need something to nit pick, don't we?

Looks like you got a good one.

Next up: crank end-play measurement, pressure release on flex-plate, and a new pinch bolt along with a helper clamp.

Awesome find and congratulations! Always buy from a new car dealer from trade-ins by old people! If the car wasn't sold in specific amount of time, they usually would punt them to the auctions. Beautiful!
