Painted Gullydeckel wheels
My manholes are scratched up and I am thinking about roughing them up and painting them. I am thinking about black or maybe something else. Does anyone have pics of manholes in colors other than the silver (anodized)? My car is black so I don't know if black wheels may be a bit much, but who knows? I remember seeing black manholes on a black car on a thread sometime back, but I can't find it.
I am open to suggestions.
Thanks.

There is a "wheel" thread do a search.
I would not scuff them up, use plasti dip and or a similar product (I think there is a similar plastic removable paint now), just need to clean them good.

When I got my car, it had painted black manholes. Now, I love black wheels on a silver car, but IMO the manholes didn't work so well in black. There aren't enough cutouts to see anything, so it tended to look, along with the tire, link one black disc. Just wasn't my thing, so I replaced them with black plasti-dipped Cup 2s. Those work much better in black, IMO...

I think gun metal in some "removable" paint would look nice on a black 928.

Mine are white from the factory, on a white car, but I doubt white would work on a black car. I would vote for a metallic gun metal finish - the sort of colour that is hard to describe between silver, dark grey etc.

I have a spare set of manholes, badly streaked, begging to have something done to them. I did some photoshopping to check out glossy black. Too sinister for me. If the setting for this photo was urban, at night, with tinted windows, fully "murdered", it would look pretty cool. To match it, I would need a major makeover.

Thanks for all the feedback. I hadn't thought of Plasti-dip. The black does look good, but maybe too much. Gunmetal or graphite may be the ticket.
