Always fun to learn new and unusual things while browsing threads - especially about my own 928. Didn't realize it is rare to have 12-way driver and passenger seats with memory. If only someone could tell me what is broken on a few of the switch positions. I hear a grinding/gravely sound and no action on a few of the positions on both seats. I'd like to fix these, but don't know where to start.

Thanks Dave, that's good to know. I'll be looking out for one.

The memory seats are much different with brains and relays so to add that function you first need a memory seat.....

Jon, the seats, like most systems in the 928 are a servo-mech-elec rats nest of different effort. The no noise, no action is usually the switch contacts, but could be other things. the grindy ones are the gear, cable, winder segment. Also have to deal with the seat controller as well. Nothing is easy except motor replacement, and doubt you need that.

Jon ... if you take the seat out and hook up a temporary power supply to two of the pins, which I've done on mine, you'll be able to go through all the functions and be able to identify what's not working. All the other pins are memory function connections, and don't stop you testing the seat functionally.

Doc and Dave - Thanks for the suggestions. I'm sure motors and switches are working. Both seats either move/adjust on each of the switch positions....or make the grinding noise without moving/adjusting. So I'm imagining pulling the seats as Dave suggested, buying a power supply to send whatever is indicated by the fuse(s) to the seat motors....and I expect to have to remove the seat covers as some of the vibration is in the side bolsters, seat back, etc. Honestly, I find the 12-way seats to be too much choice....I almost feel like I'd need to visit a professional seat "fitter" (like a high-end road bike fitter) to get it "perfect" (then hope the memory never gets wiped cuz I'll never get it perfect again).

Anyone on here pick this up? I see that it has sold...and considering the mileage, condition/options, and current sale prices for low mileage examples I suspect it was a bargain!

Hi Luc, do you remember if this car had a full PPF on it back in 2017?

Edit. I contacted the PO after getting his name from the MTO on a $20 UVIP - PPF was done in Dec 2020, so just over 2 years old.

Dats nuttin...

I got's me a one owner 87 S4 in Cassis Red over Burgundy 5-Speed with 220 (Limited Slip) 12 ways and only 6,342 miles.

Bought it with 6,031 miles and dealer maintenance by an older Porsche mechanic trained in the heyday of the 928. His service manager called me when the car became available. I made the deal on the spot.

It came with chrome D90's Manhole Covers that are currently getting proper P7's installed and is sitting with Cup 1's and Bridgestones while waiting.

I have rarely gotten a phone call that excited me more than when my dealer called with the opportunity to buy this car... I feel truly blessed...

These gems usually come once in a lifetime...

THAT is a true UNICORN, my friend.

Well played.

928s that low mileage and that pristine are the equivalent to finding a four leaf clover.

You have to jump all over it if the opportunity arises.

That is a 928 any 928 owner would be proud to have in their garage!

Adam,

That is the best condition factory leather dash and center console I have ever seen!

Exquisite!

I also prefer your color combination...
