Concours Win
It was a good weekend for 928's. The rescheduled PCA Region Oktoberfest Concours, BBQ & Swap Meet was held on Saturday 12/09/17 at F. Burton Smith Park in Cocoa, FL. Despite the cold, windy, rainy weather, the turn-out for the event was good with some very well prepared cars.
Among those representing the 928 community were three really good examples. Each of them was prepared well, and together they held their own against excellent cars in the other classes.
Because of the inclement weather, judging for each class and for "Best-in-Show" was conducted via "Peoples Choice" ballots where each concours participant voted for their choice of the best car in each class, with each class earning awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and the car with the most concours votes overall receiving the "Best-in-Show" award.
Two of the 928's, the red '88 S4 and the slate blue 83S, earned 1st and 2nd in the "Early Sport Class," with the red '88 also earning the "Best-in-Show" Award. The silver '87 S4 which also garnered many votes, is an outstanding car owned by a local 928 Owners Club member. The white 944 Turbo took 3rd in class.
It was a big day for 928's with lots of positive comments and renewed interest in the cars by almost everyone in attendance. My sense was that all of the 928's were equally prepared and it would be hard for anyone to determine which of the three was any better than the others. They were all very good.
Here are a few photos (please remember that the weather was bad):

I like the S4 in silver... always had a thing for those... the silver really evokes some kind of sleek aircraft image! For some reason, for me, only works on the later bodystyle. Nice wheels on that one too. Great pics!
