Default Unusual Silver Foil Stamp on exclusive A/T shifter

Needed to remove the A/T shifter on my nicely option 90 S4 with a bunch of X options. Even the A/T accordian is leather covered.

Here's the bottom of the shifter:

This is the stamp that was given to Exclusive leather parts by Porsche. I don't know what year they stopped, haven't seen it since the mid 1990's. It's easily 'cleaned off', take special care to preserve it.

Hers's another example of Porsche's exclusive leather department, this one is from a 993.

Cool stuff. What did you use to remove it with, a 5 lb sledge hammer? j/k, but seriously what happened to the shaft of that shifter?

The plastic there breaks off VERY easily when you remove the shifter. The plastic there is thin and old and if you tighten the screws a little too much it can create cracks which ends up making it fall apart like you see above. Same thing happened to me last year with the car I had just bought. I ended up filling mine with JB Weld though and now it's working perfectly!

That's the old logo for Schäfer Car Specials in Würzburg, Germany.

I believe it later merged into this company:
