Reverse gear lock out spring NLA??
I just picked up my car from the Factory trained 928 specialist in my area and he says that I am missing the spring for the reverse gear lock out in my transmission and that it is NLA. Not sure exactly what part that is but does anybody have a part number for this and know if this is true?

I think it is nla but Colin makes them. More than likely it is broken and not missing. sometimes they break and the part that breaks off is in the bottom of the gearbox.

Aren't we talking about the centering spring here?
I was thinking that several people attempted to make them but that there were reliability issues. What is the status with Colin's? I actually didn't know thst he was making them.

they break and fall to the bottom. try 928 intl. maybe, just maybe hey have one. if not, i think colin makes them. but sooooo many work just fine without it. just dont be an idiot and shift in to reverse while moving. (that would take some serious luck (bad luck) to get the gears to mesh at speed.

There are two "springs", one is the centering spring (long and flat), colon did or does make those, have them in two cars, no issues to date.
The reverse lockout is a square looking part bolts near top of the case, and is not what colon makes.
I've bought one last year fro Roger, not cheep, they both go for over 200 bucks!
So which one is needed is the question and are both still availasble

I just spoke with the mechanic and he will get me the part number to determine which was the broken one once he has a chance to look at PET. He said that he is sure one can be made, but finding a supplier and ensuring it is done reliably and correctly is the reason why he only likes to use OEM Porsche parts, but in this case...

Spring part number 928 303 034 09 made by Colin - price $235 each.
I have been selling them for over 12 years with zero (BIG 0) in the way of issues.
Thanks to your skills Colin.
