DriveShare by Hagerty - rent out your 928?
A recent email blast from Hagerty talked-up their DriveShare system, where you can rent classics or offer yours for rent. None available in all of upstate NY, but plenty down near "the city" - including a nice '89 928 for $350/day:

Owner is David Green. Anyone else do this?

Interesting, but I'd never participate due to my cars being too nice to let some stranger have a romp with them however they'd want.

I would never do this either. I don't care what Haggerty offers, as wear and tear are likely not covered, nor would little things like door dings or road rash that can greatly diminish value. No renter will ever respect your car the way you do.

Most of those cars/vehicles look to be average at best, but with a lot of pride in their daily rates. Wow, talk about overpriced and optimistic.
Wonder er how much Hagerty takes, and for the classics, is this activity in conflict with their auto insurance policy?

^This. Big time.
I don't know what's more insane.
Renting my 928 (or 944 or Cayenne) out to random strangers.
Paying that kind of money to drive a car for a day.
I took a look around the site. Yes, I see that renters are "vetted". I don't care. It's still some random stranger.
There also seem to be a lot of Lambos for rent. For upwards of $2k per day. I guess the owners have to pay for the maintenance somehow. 2 928s. One in NJ, one in CA. I do have to say I like the 930 listed...
At $930/day.

Heard the flapping noises... Looked out the office window, saw the morning pig making its final downwind turn for landing. It's rare here, since we live several miles west from the closest pig-port. Winds from the east are uncommon here.
