On a smooth road, only the soft, progressive part of the Eibachs is doing any ‘springing.’ The Bilsteins are not that weak. They’re too strong for the progressive part of the Eibachs. That’s why the comb is jiggly.

With nothing connected to the LCA, how much force is needed to move the end of the arm a couple inches from level each way? Multiply that by the lever ratio to find what spring rate it would be at the perch.

To date I have not come across anyone who has fitted the lower bush kit from Powerflex. The notion that this kit does not flex and pivots somewhat freely is [I suspect] flawed but I also suspect that until someone has actually fitted them and got them into operation we will not really know what is going on with that setup. We have been advised that the stock rear bushes are bonded in place but when I cut one off a lower arm there was no evidence of bonding and the stock fitment had a metal insert in pretty much the same manner as the Powerflex kit. One of our friends has had quite an extensive dialogue with them over this concept and when I recently talked to Powerflex during my UK visit they told me they have made a modification to the lower arm kit that will be available early in the new year but they did not tell me why they needed to make a modification.

As and when the modified bushes are fitted I suspect we will find the spring rate is similar to stock. If it wasn't then surely Powerflex would not know what they were doing and their reputation suggests that is anything but the case. As they say - "the proof of the pudding is in the eating"!

We ended up on the red car with Eibachs on the front with Koni's and Hypercoils on the rear and Koni's. I'm not finding it uncomfortable nor nervous. However the lower bushings on both corners are new.

I like my Koni/Eibach setup in my 928 S2. For german roads a good setup. Not to stiff and noisy.
