Looking for a fixer upper 928 S4 (87-95), hopefully the asking price reflects the work needs to be done.
I’ll respect all offers. Feel free post here or PM.
Clear title – no salvage title.

Because this is the United States and we are the melting pot. It takes all kinds, and there is a market(albeit sometimes a fairly silent market) for unloved, needs work, abused, neglected and downright rough 928s too.

Stand by your guns OP. I might have a candidate for you in a few weeks. Black, black, black 88 with LSD. Running, but in need of time and details.

I'm tired of hacking at people for their choice of purchase. What about the 'barn find GT!?'

Because many of us have the required experience and knowledge to rebuild and restore the neglected ones at a fraction of the price. Takes all kinds and easier to get out with a profit.

I asked that question because of the OPs avatar.

Their are many reasons why you might want a fixer upper.

I was suggesting another path to follow.

Fixing a car also takes time and thats not something you will ever get back.

What is your level of fixer upper? Fixer upper has many definitions depending on the person. For me a fixer upper is in need of extreme repair and not in running conditions.

For others a fixer upper may be wiper blades and head lights.

What kind of work are you willing to take on?

Consider cruising the 928's For Sale thread sticky at the top of the list. Otherwise, the one that Mark is offering may be a good choice for you too, depending on how much it needs vs. how much you want to take on. TBF means the bottom of the engine is done, so the work is largely mechanical, less cosmetic. Lots of us are handy with the hammers and wrenches and maybe less inclined to take on a car that needs an immediate $7-10k investment in a full respray plus interior work. If that describes you, negotiate on the car and an engine and you have a project.

Oh, and Welcome Back to the 928. Great group of supporters here, diverse as we may be.

I saw Mark's '88 in person and it is a VERY nice car! I just don't have the time or room but if you want something to work on I would recommend this one.

Thanks Mark. I have had such a positive experience with 928 owners over the years:
My wife and I were on our way to DC from NC in our 89 S4, and the coolant regulator broke while we were driving on the highway. We pulled to the side of the highway. I contacted a local Rennlist member (JD from Maryland), he then started a post in the forum indicating that I need help. I would tell him the symptoms and he would then post them in the forum and provide me feedback over the phone. Per the advices from the Forum members I ended up bypassing the regulator with a rubber hose and drove the car back. We did't have Smart phones then to look at a YouTube video to figure things out
I think Porsche people in general are very good folks!!
Thanks
