.........The advantage of inserting a link is that you can put text between the images, loading jpegs as attachments, just adds them after all your text. As an example of links, Dwaynes tutorial threads have linked images at the appropriate places throughout the lengthy text.......

Folks, can I remind everybody there there is a forum for venting on (read: "reporting") system problems and such? It's a clearinghouse for issues like this.
The "infinite scrolling" option is added to the mobile version for a tiny fraction of users, with an always-stationary bottom panel floating where you can access it. IIRC there's an easy way to turn it off. I don't use the mobile version much so have not yet used infinite scrolling more than a few times. The difference between a bug and a feature is how it's documented.

I've been doing this a long time, I used to host all my own images on my personal "cloud" just because it was easier back in the day before the upload option was added. I've found plenty of my images posted on other forums, copied from my server.

Photo B. is a whole 'nother can of worms that I think will eventually become so difficult that we have to look for another solution for image hosting. The "free" version there is so filled with ads & pop-ups, that it's virtually unusable. The paid version is much better, but not they're limiting your 3rd party posting and requiring you to pay even more (and it's a big increase) if you want to continue linking your to your photos. Fortunately, I haven't had hit that limit yet, but I keep getting the PB warnings. They are obviously hungry for more money!
I would be very disappointed if we started losing older tutorials because of the new limits by these image hosting sites.

RL attachments work just fine, if you're happy to give IB your IP
e.g. to use in "technical articles" linked off the front page which rip off content with poor levels of attribution to actual content writers/photographers (our esteemed 928 brethren)
(I'm talking about the "How To" section.. here https://rennlist.com/how-tos/c/porsche-928-37639/ )

I just took a look. The overall quality of the articles I looked through was ... low.

Its not falling, but it certainly dropped a notch or two..
Between never remembering my login (seems to apply to chrome and firefox both), and the stupidity of "related threads", where they've got some really terrible "AI", plus the stupid stupid chat-bot-style "ask a question" popup, the site is a demonstration of a company struggling to keep up with market trends, instead of embodying the design common-sense which the original builders of vbulletin (acquired by IB) showed in terms of useful funcitonality first.
Here's what the forum engine thinks is related.. power steering apparently.
(Hmm.. maybe IB do need their steering fixed?.. )

In general for people who have the patience to work on 928s, these UI changes should easily be taken in stride, maybe with a short eyeroll, But - pet peeve - related threads used to be just a list of four links and often provided some good information. Generally only one or two were for non-928s. Now there is never, ever a 928 "related" thread and searching is the only way to find older threads that are actually related. The change is really dumb tweak which begs the question, who is coding these changes and why?
The How-to thread is pretty low quality and low utility. I noted that the works of Dwayne and, yes, Worf928 are excerpted along with many others, some credited and some not. I used it a few times to gather some background but at some point figured: Why not just use the original material without the smarmy additional crap?
On the IP question, it seems obvious anything posted anywhere on the internet becomes stealable by a vast army of pirates. Just ask the New York Times, Sony, or Iron Maiden.
BTW, I'm still looking for a really good 928 airbag dash removal tutorial...
BTW2: The above statement means that when you search for "928 airbag dash removal" this thread will pop up. Maybe even in a 996 forum "related thread."

Ok my only dismissive scoff is seeing the “enter your question here” box pop up before I can log in.
What a farce.
Suggests that there are 928 experts standing by to answer non-member questions...

The Rennlist Forum Glitches - Post Them Here forum is the place to share UI discussions if you want the IB VBulletin tech squad to see them. Rather than move this whole diverse yet disparate thread there, I'm posting a link in that forum back to this thread. In the future, consider putting your UI suggestions and concerns there, with a link to that thread from here if you are looking for more 928 Forum user participation.
