Exclamation Help : Test LH unit in Montreal Qc ?

Hi,
My 88 auto trans 928 S4 with only 77000km has died after only 5 min idelling in parking The battery was too faded to start the car normaly so i jump started the car with the old subaru... but after 5 minutes, the car stalled
I tried to jump start it again... and again... the car was dead. The motor was cranking and my mecanic confirmed he was hearing the spark but ... still no start.
After about 16h hours of looking and testing everything, the mecanic said "cant confirme it but i think its the LH controle unit... everything else seems to work and even if i bypass the gas pump relay too jump the gas pump, the pump works but the car doesnt start ?!?... we have to test the LH UNIT to know what else could be wrong ... or the car will start "

Please help me find a way to test an LH CONTROLE UNIT in my car (in Montreal Quebec) or how to put my LH in a otherwise fully functional car to know if it works

I would buy a new LH to replace mine... if thats the problem ?!?
Will take any suggestion or infos to make the great shark run !!
Thanks

theres a few experienced 928 folks in Quebec. I would recommend Bertrand and Luc to you for local guidance.

The LH can be tested and replaced/rebuilt in North America if its verified to be bad.

bon chance.

The car is still at mecanics garage since i had it towed there...
Hope to get it back soon... at least before it snows.
Do you think i should buy a rebuilt or new LH and start from there ?
Thanks

If you believe the LH is indeed at fault Id then send for testing. If then absolutely proved bad it can be rebuilt or replaced with a good replacement.

Im not sure there is a new LH and if there is its probably uber expensive.

Louis Ott or Jim Corenman are the folks to talk to regarding testing and potentially providing replacement.

I just had my LH, rebuilt by Ott's Performance. It's on it's way back to Las Vegas, and the fee is $495.00 US. It's got one of John Speaks programmable PEMS which can be Sharktuned, Louis said, it's a great up grade.

Only time, and money.

If the existing controller shows no evidence of being rebuilt (like a label on it from the rebuilder) then you'll likely want to get it done to yours even if that isn't your immediate problem. Louis Ott and Others (Like Rich at Elektronik Repair and Roger/Sean in Texas) will test the controller for you, and swap for a rebuilt if yours has failed. That's if the local folks can't get you going.

Thanks for the info👌ðŸ»
I called and emailed Roger in texas...
Waiting for some news from him soon.
Luc may have an LH fonctionnal...that would be a great option to do some testsðŸ‘
The car is still at mecanic garage... but im thinking of getting back to my storage garage...
In not that keen of wrenching by lack of time...
But this probleme may take a while to fixe and may be to expensive at mecanic...
Are these problèmes hard to wrench or just time consuming ... your thoughs on this could help me.
Thanks everyone.

PS: Snow is what we Canadien have all winter long and wy we store the 928´s in the winter 😅

Put your controller in another LH car and see if it works. Better that than risking another controller in your car if the car caused the controller damage.

Would it work on an other year ... 85-86 or 89 ?
These are prety rare cars in Montreal 😕

Any 928 from 1987 - 1995 will be an OK test.
