Double-check the wiring for the sensor and make sure it isn't faulting to ground. It passes into the tunnel just aft of the CE panel, originally through a grommet, then above the heat shield to the sensor itself at the rear of the header pipes/front of the cats. It's really easy to mis-route the wire there. dress the cable poorly, or have that grommet push through and expose the wire to the sharp edge of the hole in the tunnel.

Here's the latest. Bought a very nice fuel pressure test gauge kit. Made the jumper wire with a switch set up where I can walk around the car.
Did the test. 4 bar when the car is sitting and just the pumps are running. opened the bypass valve, the 1st time the pressure dropped to Zero, and the gas came out slowly. The second time the pressure stayed at 3.5 bar, but only pumped about 8 ounces in 30 seconds into a quart beaker.
Started the car and while it was idling, pressure dropped to 2.5 bar. I let it run for about 2 minutes. Didn't want to keep it running with the relay bridged. Should I have let it run till it died again?
I think it failed the pressure test, but I'm not sure, because the bypass line is only 1/4 inch plastic tubing. I think it should have felt like it had some pressure behind it, not just a steady flow.
I'm thinking about putting the old external pump back on and seeing what it does. It was still working, but making some noise.
What say the experts?

This is a first, The #42 fuel pump relay, oxy sensor fuse blew. I replaced it and the car started and died within 2 seconds and the fuse blew a 2nd time.
Would a bad oxy sensor, cause the fuse to blow? It's dark here and my lift is outside, so I knocked off for the evening.

Had this exact issue on my GTS - insulation on O2 sensor wire had rubbed through after it had been incorrectly routed and kept popping the #42 fuse.

Yes Dave, and I had to replace the fuel damper, so I went and removed the pressure reg, and got back in there and cleaned the ground lugs, sanded the block, took the CPS Connector back apart Cleaned it with contact cleaner and Deoxit, the lugs too. Wiggled the **** outta everything. no difference. Every thing is good and tight too.

Charles, the fuse blew because I had a jumper touching the power side of the external fuel pump. My fault entirely! Wiring on my O2 sensor is good I checked it today. And it's working as it should.
Hope troubleshooting the rest of the problem goes well

Stan just called me and I gave him some advice to try out, he will be calling you. If you can get it here next week we can go through it. Don't sweat it if you can't make it on Monday like we planned, it won't hurt my feelings taking a day off.
Get it going good first.

Sounds like your issue isn't with the LH harness CPS and ground connections:
Your fuel pressure tests seem to point in a useful direction.
