Yet another problem - fuel in sump
Me again...
Finding problems thick and fast with my S2, but then again it's been sitting for several years. Latest challenge seems to be fuel in the oil/sump. Is there anything other than a faulty fuel injector that can cause this?

Whereas the fuel invariably will have come through an injector or injectors a false logic can also cause excess fuel to enter the combustion chamber and in the extreme unburnt fuel may find its way into the sump. A logic problem will cause the fuel to enter on all cylinders whereas a fualty injector more is likely to be on one cylinder and plug inspection should perhaps indicate which one.
If you have not done so and if you do not know the history, pulling the injectors and testing/US cleaning of them ought to be considered mandatory. The test programme will show whether the injectors are holding pressure and whether the spray pattern is compromised.

Fuel in the sump is fuel not being combusted in the cylinder. Either too much fuel or no spark. Or both.
Also, too much fuel will wash the cylinder walls of oil and dramatically increase wear.

If you've got a leaking injector it could cause the cylinder to fill up after shut down and it has no place to go but the sump. Like said, pull your plugs and take a look at them.
