Default Radiator hose

Looking for help in making sure hoses are oriented correctly.
Last Sunday during a drive I noticed fluid coming of the bottom. I turned the car on and there was torrential outpouring of coolant front and center along the belly pan.
Yesterday I started trying to sort it out and found that the smaller hose that goes under the oil filler neck into the block had popped out (see pic):

When I was working in reattaching it as it was originally set, It seemed as if it was fighting for real estate with the larger hose, as it was coming from above the larger hose and then diving down to the block. It seemed to me that the more natural pathway would be under the large hose (pic #2).

Could you guys look into your engine bays to see how it is supposed to go? Is there any drawback on leaving it this way? My only concern is that it travels pretty darn close to the dizzy.

Thank you,
Miguel

I route it underneath. Not really on purpose but because the large upper rad hose is the last one installed.

Thank you for the replies. It seems like the more natural route for it, but I was not sure.

That little hose is a vapor/air vent line. Ideally it would have a relatively constant slope up from the water bridge fitting to the reservoir end, with no high spots in between. Ditto the one from the radiator.
