Default 1983 928s Rear boot change ....LOST

I got it, I have watched all the YouTube videos and as soon as my brakes are done (end of next week) I plan on dropping my exhaust then the axles. Here is the problem I cannot find the right boot kit... I would like to have the kit that has the metal end that connects to the trans but I have checked all over even the big 3 and cant seem to either find the correct year or the kit does not have the end piece. Also, do I need seals? Some of the kits have the seals and some do not. Parts are getting harder and harder to find, I could find a rebuilt passenger side caliper but no one anywhere had the driver side so I am rebuilding it myself, I am also rebuilding the fronts... But the boots I just cant seem to find what I need, to many options and I don't want to make the 3 week mistake, getting the wrong one after waiting a week for delivery, sending it back and waiting another week for a different one. Thank you in advance..

First of all welcome to the list. No idea whether you are new to the 928 world but it does seem rather strange that you are having issues with some of our main suppliers regading something as simple as this. if there is a problem with the supply chain for your model year then for sure you have come to the right place but I for one have not read of anyone having a problem like this- not with our main suppliers at least.

Have you tried the "personal approach" and called the likes of Roger [928srus], Mark [928 Intl], Dave [928GT] or Carl [928 Motorsports] our four main parts purveyors? Maybe Greg at Precision Motorwerks could put a small package together for your needs - not sure that is his type of thing but I dare say he would steer you.

That you are having some difficulty with this specific item suggests there is confusion rather than a parts problem. If you have not talked directly to these fine folks then perhaps that is the starting point to solving your dilemma.

Both axle boot types are listed here: http://shop.928intl.com/REAR-AXLE/products/120/
If yours currently have end caps then that the one you need to get, if they don't then you need the version with the gasket to the transmission. It's one or the other not both.
