I ditched my cross brace, thanks to the generosity of both Ladybug83 and 77Tony. Ladybug83 gave Tony the cross brace and Tony regifted to me. Thanks to both of you.
I wasn’t happy with how large the cross brace I was making and when the gifted cross brace came about, I choose to accept and slightly modify with some simple counter sink holes.

Making a new dual 2 1/2” exhaust system. Picked up passenger side heat shield from 928 international and made my own mounts. After making the twin tubes from X over back to twin dynamax mufflers, I was looking at the rear of the car up in the air and it was screaming rear center exhaust.....stay tuned

Maybe should have thought a little more before jumping into the rear dual exhaust. I am afraid to count the hours involved in this task. Finally have a a mock up of the tubing, that looks like it will work, but still have the trim piece to make out SS between exhaust and bumper. I a, also thinking about making a rear panel / diffuser. Right now , just want to get exhaust done, so I can put some miles on the car.

That looks great! Are you going to fill the original muffler opening in the bumper cover? How hot does the exhaust get relative to the melting point of high density polyethylene?

yes, I will make a patch for the stock side exhaust and paint to match
I will be installing the hi temp reflector exhaust shield to the bottom of the gas tank and battery box. In addition I will be wrapping the exhaust with 2” wrap
https://www.kartek.com/parts/graphit...x-50-roll.html

i will make a Stainless Steel trim piece between the exhaust and the plastic and add the hi temp fabric between the two. There is at least 1/2” gap between exhaust and bumper and the tips are double wall SS, which disapates heat......really no different than the modern day Porsche’s.

No,
other priorities have taken precedence over the car. Still waiting for the brake billet mounts to be done, need to get the twin fan wire harness in and get over for dyno. Not sure when i will get back to it and really don't mind the break from the car.

Thanks Carl,
I am considering redoing the rear section to get the bottom tubes up a little higher. I also need to finish up the stainless steel piece that finishes off the bumper cut out.

Here are few pictures of the finished exhaust, the start of the SS trim piece for bumper and the fill in panel for the side exhaust cut out

Wow. Just stunning. Also, I was wondering about running the exhaust so close to the plastic gas tank, and the possible heat issues as a result (cracking plastic, etc), but I see you wrapped the pipes, so should not be an issue.

Thanks Tony, yrk928 & linderpat for the kind words.

If it wasn't for Tony, Dinsdale and Carl, I wouldn't have even thought of building this type of car.
