Spare Tire Replacement
Hello All;
I am a fan of 928 nostalgia but in no way would I use my original 30+ yr old inflatable spare tire if I had a flat while out on a road trip. Can anyone recommend a more modern replace doughnut type spare that will fit my 83S.
Thanks!

AAA card will get the truck out to swap -your- spare onto your car. Or tow the car to the nearest repair station, with max towing miles determined by the level of coverage you buy. It's up to you to convince the driver that the "nearest repair station" is your garage, rather than the tire store right down the block.
I'm in for a replacement spare tire too, one that will fit on the factory wheel. I've never had to use mine, and having a good spare tire would surely improve my chances of continuing that tradition. TireRack Damon, are you listening?

Three Wheelin'
The spare: hasn't been exposed to UV rays, isn't kept pressurized and and hardly if ever gets used. Maybe the real question is what is the spare's useful life?

It looks like the collapsible spares are still available from Porsche. 928 362 030 02 is the part #
MSRP is $468.14; Sonnen has them for $380. No idea how old the stock is however.

I am not buying that theory.... never seen it in writing . Plus if hit hard enough to get to the battery the car is totaled. Seen a few where the spare was wedged in but the car was always a total. The early car I wondered about the spare flying around inside the car in a big rollover.....
