You're going to have a heat issue with that exhaust. I did the same thing on my 914 - dual exhausts out the center. The heat gets up under the fiberglass rear lower bumper and makes it smell like burning fiberglass even though nothing is actually in contact with the fiberglass. It's just a byproduct of all that heat coming out of a spot where there wasn't any previously. The smell does get better over time, but still slightly there.

Well, I have driven the car and have not had an issue and if you noticed in my post I said I haven't finished the stainless steel heat shield trim piece between the exhaust and bumper. The exhaust is wrapped with heat wrap and you are able to touch it with out burning your hand. In addition there is heat reflective fiber material on the side and bottom of the gas tank and battery box.

Thanks for sharing, but so far it is a non issue.

1st.....thank you for the well wishes
2nd......Happy New Year to all

I pulled the 928 off the lift to get back on it. Unfortunately, after a few local drives, I blew up a cv cage, which is being sorted out now, looks like a defective cage.

On a positive side, my buddy finally decided to make the mounts for the brakes up grade. I really need to say thank you to Xchop for his engineering and write up on the brake upgrade https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...otor-swap.html <https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...otor-swap.html>
i would also like to thank Dinsdale for loaning me a set of mounts to get the measurements off of.

i mounted the rear brakes and have the new mounts for the fronts, but just waiting on the reducer rings for the rotors and will mount. So far so good

I'm not sure how I missed this thread before, but man is it amazing!

I should be fully retired by the time I'm 60 (4 years or so), and I was daydreaming about building a car that I could drive coast-to-coast: Reliable, comfortable, classy, and low-profile. Your car is exactly what I pictured: An early Shark with an LS conversion in gray.
