Over the years I've seen Iris Blue on only two 928's, and each one was stunning. I'd have to vote it as 'best color' on the 928.

Along those lines, Arena Red for the 993.

Iris Blue would be my number 1 choice, followed by Midnight Blue.

Was looking for a BoxsterS with PASM when I stumbled onto the 94 Iris Blue GTS Willhoit had listed on every for sale site.
Was enamored with the Iris Blue and it was a GTS 5 speed!
Tried for two weeks to talk myself out of making Michael an offer, and kinda was hoping someone else would buy it.
Then I decided there would probably never be another one that color and a 5 speed for sale.
Made and offer and Michael said that would be a good down payment. My heart sank.
The he made me a counter offer I just couldn't say no to.
After the sale, he had it detailed, put new tires on it, and delivered it to my driveway.
I had only seen pictures, and was shocked when I walked out my front door and saw how much better the Iris Blue looked in person.
Really can't think of another car I would rather own.
So, If someone wants it, they gonna to have to pay me the I really don't want to sell it price.

The listing in my signature below is a pic of the car.

Iris blue used to be my favorite color on a 928 for many years, but I've changed my mind recently. Too many blue's, blacks, and silvers----RED is the color that really stands out to me now. Hardly any new Porsche's come in Gaurds Red anymore, makes them even more special!

Had a guards red 90GT. Got pulled over a couple of times just because the police couldn't resist that arrest me red. The traffic was too heavy that morning to even go over the speed limit. Both gave me verbal warnings. It was the morning after I had it detailed. Today they would call it paint restoration. It did really stand out and attract attention it was such a bright shiny red. When I went to pick it up the red grabbed my attention from 2 blocks away.

worf928,

Amazing collection of 928's... Beautiful shots and thanks for posting them.

Regarding the "Club Sport wheels" seen in the upskirt shot.

Is that a real CS?

It looks like it is a black U.S. spec car, and I'm not sure if any CS's were imported in black? Love to learn otherwise.

Enjoy!

Ah. I see now why you reposted that pic to the 928 RPT; you were trying to get my attention. I guess e-mail notifications for new posts aren’t working (for me) again.

In any case, I think you’ve confused some of the text. That’s my (US Spec) ‘89GT. It is not a CS. However it has CS wheels which were, AFAIK, standard for ‘89GTs. Of course, those CS wheels were not its originals. They are 928 CS wheels, just acquired 15-ish years ago when people didn’t want them...

So, IIRC, someone has to discard one, someone else can still draw two.

LOL. I’ll play 5-928-card draw with anyone except Greg Brown

But we need to establish the rules. Model year in order from ‘78 to ‘95. Colors are suits. Does 5-speed beat Auto? And WTF do you do with MY’89? Maybe the ‘89S4 5-speed is a partial joker...

Of course it gets worse: If colors are suits then what's the precedence? Since black and red are the most numerous they should be at the bottom.

Identity 928 Politics here we come....

Good Morning Super Dave,

Oh yes he did... :-)

Of course the Autos have the higher numbers on the 5-Speeds.....
Higher 0-60 numbers
Higher 1/4 Mile numbers..
Higher numbers of them, makes them less valuable...

Edit: Forgot to add, don't get me wrong I like autos too, I even bought Jeannie a couple of them over the years. ;-)

Happy Tuesday,

just Dave

Auto Vs 5 - Speed! OH @#$%^&*!!! Now thats a "RISKY BUSINESS" debate!

Not many 5 - car -d hands out there, I can't even play the game! (Although I'm hoping for a fourth car-d soon...)

drooman and I bought a 79 parts car together, its mostly gone, does it count as something like a 2 of clubs? If so, that's four!

The 91 XX8 GT wide body is a total unicorn, so I'm thinking that could be one of the Jokers (at least the Ace of Spades... ;-)

One thing for sure though, if Richard and I make a deal on the 94 Iris car, I'll be willing to play with only four car-d's.

But, is there really a debate?? :-)

I bet you dream at night that every GTS you find for sale at a killer price,....is also 5-Speed.

Isn't the Trans Type the 1st thing you look at when you see a GTS for sale, even before mileage?? I can't be the only one! :-)

All in fun dude, you need to get the GTS deal done...I can feel the stress from here!!

FWIW, my 10 XKR is an auto, heck even a 6-speed Paddle shifting, Track mode, rev-matching automatic...and I still don't like it, so it's nothing personal. LOL

Cheers,

Dave
