Door contact switch question.
THe guard light in my driver's door is completely corroded, so I put new spade connectors on the ends of the wires. I was testing them and with the door open I got nothing. I worked the door switch to see if it was jammed and when I push it in - the position when the door is closed - I get 12v!
This seems counter intuitive; I would expect to get power to the door guard lights when the door (and switch) is open.
Am I crazy?

The door switch doesn't control power.
It supplies ground.
You should have constant 12v to one of the wires (check to chassis ground).
The wire without power should show continuity to chassis ground when the door is open, no continuity when switch it pushed in.

Continuity. Okay, I'll noodle around with it. Electronics confuse the crap out of me.
Thanks for the help!
