I appreciate the above comments. Saved me 8 minutes.

NOT from a car enthusiast perspective. They (and him) write from an outsider's perspective. Not a car guy, petrol head, gear head.
But from a "boy, these things are shiney" perspective. And it grates on me. I stopped reading Jalop along time ago.

I kinda enjoy Doug's reviews. He presents them from the perspective of an enthusiast without getting tangled up in all the minutiae that others seem to thrive on.
I'd say his review of the GTS is pretty spot on for someone without a passion for these particular cars.

His videos regularly get over 1 million views, this will probably be the most 'seen' 928 video in its history. Might not 'get' his reviews, but he's definitely killing it on YouTube

Wow. Lot of vitriol over DeMuro. Count me in the minority of this group that likes his reviews. I disagree that he is not a car guy. Every year for the past 5 or so he buys a "cool" car and daily drives it for a year, writing about its attributes. In that case at least he is putting his money where his mouth is. The rest of us "car guys" meanwhile have lots of opinions on cars we never owned.

I enjoy Doug's reviews, but I agree that he should've compared the GTS to other cars of a similar era rather than to modern $100K+ sports cars. Anyhow, I do like how he approached this with a different spin than most do with 928 reviews (most reviews are virtually the same as all the others, and few discuss some of the more subtle but unique features of the 928).

There's certainly a sharp difference of opinion here. Maybe it's correlated with age
I prefer reading his articles vs. watching bis videos, though. His humor works better in writing.

I'm not "old", under 50, Polecat said what I was thinking, this guy is a tool. I've seen his crap before and when I saw this thread I shuttered. I cannot watch this, even my 14 yr. old son saw the pic. of him and moaned, oh no him.

This is my main point about Him, and where Jalopnik comes from: NOT from a car enthusiast perspective. They (and him) write from an outsider's perspective. Not a car guy, petrol head, gear head. But from a "boy, these things are shiney" perspective. And it grates on me. I stopped reading Jalop along time ago.
I disagree wholeheartedly about Jalopnik. I find some of their regular contributors to be insightful and entertaining. David Tracy's exploration of Jeep Life is great stuff, Torchinsky's videos about driving weird cars are pretty good, and I absolutely love Tovarich's exploration of maintaining well-used high-dollar supercars on a Ford Mustang budget. They also cover the industry pretty well and governmental transportation-related matters well.
I don't read everything on Jalopnik. I don't care for their racing coverage, and their fascination with drifting is confounding, but overall it's a great site for a motorhead.
But, yeah, DeMuro didn't do a good job. For reviews like this: Give me Mr. Regular.

I stopped reading Jolopnik when they started bein social justice warriors. Zero use for them now.

I found his critique to be pretty much spot-on, and this coming from an owner of 15 years of a black, can can interior, no sunroof, 87 5-speed. Additionally, I have a GT racecar. LOVE them both.
IMO, everything he said was true, including the incredibly heavy steering. As we know, that heavy steering becomes an asset at highway speeds, and especially at the track at 150 mph. Despite that, what he said is correct - it is a very heavy feeling car to muscle around town.
What is it exactly, those who are complaining, do you think he is misrepresenting about the 928?

Man, All this Doug hate. I think he is one of the better reviewers around. He cuts through the "It makes 3.3Hp/Kg, which is .002 more than the Dacia Sandaro" BS that everyone else does.
But everyone is pissed about his 928 review, and I was a little disappointed too, but I think we always see our cars through rose-tinted glasses.
The dougscore is a work in progress, however. It needs to be worked through a little bit to account for age.

What puts me off about everyone of these clowns, is the first thing outta their mouth, or the pen is:" Porsche built the 928 to replace the 911!" I've heard so many conflicting stories, that I don't know what the truth is, nor do I give a rat's ***!
The 928 is unique in and of itself. To compare it to anything other than another contemporary Grand Tourer is ridiculous.
I could and would guarantee that if DeMuro, was in my presence, and I had on a HAMC t-shirt, or my patch, he'd be on all fours wearing a collar, with a leash, and barking like a dog, and if I stopped walking, he'd be licking his nuts! This guy is a full blown punk!
Rant over, I apologize if I've offended anyone on this forum!
