Dan, I read through the post and saw that you are intending to run E85 which I was going to suggest for your target hp levels and the size of the motor / turbo. This will make your objective a lot easier. Look forwards to reading more posts.

Yeah, I'm pretty committed now to the E85 path, I had the fuel cell specially prepped to be compatible (mostly, the fill plates and hardware had to be treated by Fuel Safe before assembly). E85 seems like such a perfect solution for high output forced induction, and the fact that I'll be running a DTA Fast ECU that can accept input from a GM E85 sensor makes it 100% doable with no concerns. E85 was $1.59 at the pump yesterday, so that's a very appealing aspect as well!!!

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

Car is back from being media blasted and shot with Sherwin-Williams acid-etching primer:

Oooooh! Look at that engine bay!

Next step is going to be to rebuild the rear inner wheel wells...

...once those are done, it'll be time to start bolting the suspension bits back on.

Now with the chassis prep completed, I'm starting to focus on a complete restoration and performance prep of the suspension. I've been slowly collecting the pieces for the suspension, and have spent a good part of the winter media blasting and prepping for rebuild. This will be the next major sub-project. I have all of the major components, most of them photographed below:

Mookeh "pillow ball" adjustable camber plates

400# front springs & helpers

Ground Control fully adjustable coil-over struts housings loaded with adjustable Koni inserts; custom valved rear coil-over Koni shocks

Front spindles from 1986 951 (to accommodate Brembo calipers)

Front hubs from 1986 951

Front A-Arms (late offset) from 1989 944S

Dust shields

Rear hubs from 1989 944S

Rear trailing arms from 1989 944S

Adjustable spring plates with rubber bushings removed

Torsion tube carriers

Wheel bearings and CV boot kits

There will definitely need to be an electronic speedo of some sort because I've eliminated the earlier spindles with manual speedo cable in order to go with the 951 Brembo setup.

Instrumentation is TBD, and is probably going to be one of the last things I figure out. I am planning to run a race dash of some fashion, still undecided if I will fabricate a very spartan setup out of alu sheet, or if I will drop the cash to pick up an aftermarket f/g dash. I have the DTA Fast ECU, so that opens up all kinds of possibilities for data logging dash displays...it's all just a matter of time and money!
