Duraflex diffuser

Hey guys,
Has anyone seen an aftermarket duraflex turbo diffuser in person? This one:

Thinking about putting one on my NA. I know about drilling the holes, but I'm wondering A. If these are any good, if they're heavy or poor quality and B. If the diffuser on a 924 was different than the 944 turbo one, as this is technically listed as being for a 924.

I wouldn't mind a factory one, but if this one is lighter and cheaper it's probably good enough for me.

Big difference between 944 and 924 in rear fender area after wheel well.
Curves are different, but you can put late model diffuser on early body but it looks odd.
Never did it, but saw a picture and it wasn't pretty.

I would imagine this Duraflex fits the 924 body better, but you should ask them. If you look at their pictures, it appears the up curve at the bottom rear fender is not as pronounced, which is where a late model diffuser looks wrong when mounted on a 924 body.

The 924 version (at least the factory one) looks like this

That's all I was able to find in pictures of 924's also, which is why Paul's response confused me. Are there three versions? As far as I can tell, there's the one you posted, and there's the one that came with 944 turbos, and the duraflex certainly looks to be the turbo version.

Paul, do you have any pictures to explain what you mean? When you say "early body style" I assume you're talking about a 924 body (without the big fender flares of the 944)? So do you just mean if you put a turbo diffuser on a 924 it will be way too wide because the body's missing the flares? If that's what you mean, then it would seem that the Duraflex would fit a 944, no?

If they can't show an image of that fitted to a 924 on their own website, I would be concerned about purchasing it.

AH, I'm seeing the issue now. I have an '84 944, not a 924. Should have written that in my original post.

Yes, if you have a 944 then the "turbo" diffuser will fit and look proper.

The Duraflex link you posted is for a 9024, so make sure you order a 944 one form them, if you go that way. There are several people on this site that sell diffuser take-offs that might be less expensive for you.

There are no holes in the fenders to attach the diffuser, so you will need to locate them yourself to attach the diffuser. The best way is to find a 944 that has a diffuser so you can see how the attachment is made to the body.
