Default Noise that I have not heard before. Having trouble placing it.

Engine started making this noise the other day. It sounds like it's either coming from the top by the cam or the front around the belts.

Today I took the belt covers off and checked the belt tension with the arnworx tool. Made some minor adjustments. Everything is in spec and the noise is still there. Maybe a bad roller? I just replaced them when I did the belts in January. I used the contitech kit.

Any other ideas from anybody?

Ran with the belt cover off seems like it's coming from the water pump. I think. Yay.

It was done with the belt change before last. Which was done January. Guess I'll get to do that again.

was it new? or rebuilt? The WP's on these aren't known to go bad early. Should have lasted longer than 3 years. If you can share the details, it could be helpful. And for sure let us know if it ended up NOT being the WP.

It has been longer than three years. I noticed a dribble of coolant so I'm leaning towards that still.

It was done at an independent shop before I started handling my own maintenance. I have the paperwork in a binder but that info isn't there. I think it was new. They had to update it with the newer style seeing as I was charged for the kit to do so.

If there's any more information on the pump when I pull it I will update.

Any recommendations on where to get a water pump? I've heard zims are good. The price difference between new and rebuilt seems pretty close.

I mentioned on youtube that your cam cheesehead bolt was loose, others have experienced this, see the youtube video and he walks through it with you in the video on how to fix/replace it.
