Default O2 sensor

The S2 threw a fit the other day, barely running with no power. These were the same symptoms that occurred when my O2 sensor worked loose. Crawled under to retighten it for the 3rd time in 4 years but it was tight this time Snagged a new Bosch O2 sensor off EBAY for 75 bucks shipped, it even arrived a day early. Went out to the garage this morning and swapped it out and BINGO end of problem

That looks like a handy problem solver for those who don't weld. I've seen another post or two about loose O2 sensors over the years. My car just turned over 89,000 miles so I'm guessing it was the original. When I bought the car 4 years ago it had an undiagnosed sporadic exhaust shield rattle. I couldn't run it down but it usually went away when warm. Then one day it ran crappy on start up. Suspecting the O2 sensor I checked to see how hard it would be to get to and when I touched it, Bingo it moved. Tightened it up an no more rattle About a year later it worked loose again so I gave it a proper German torqueing "Gut en tight" and it stayed tight until it went bad.
