Default 911 SC Fuchs on early 944?

I have a 1986 944 (early offset), and I have been thinking about upgrading the phone dials to Fuchs. It dawned on me the other day that I have a clean set of 911SC Fuchs, 6x16 (et36) and 7x16 (et 23) sitting in my basement. From what I gather, they should fit the 944 - but has anyone used these on their 944, and how do they look? Are spacers required? I have stock brakes, so no clearance issues.

I did it back in the day. Sold a 79 SC with BBS wheels. Kept the Fuchs and put 'em on an 83 944.
Don't remember about spacers. But, I think there was a Fuchs wheel for the 944 that was 944 specific.
I had 'em on an 86 951.

they will fit but the 6et36 will sit "inboard" an extra inch relative to the fender compared to stock 7et23.

so you might want a 1" spacer for front.

Ahhh, I forgot that the stock phone dials are a square 15x7 setup. Hmmm. I also have a second set of 16x 7 & 8 Fuchs, although they need to be refinished. Might be worth it. Those are et 23 and et 10.6 (I think).

8et10.6/11 fit fine too (i have the same measurements on my early 944). nice thing about that width/offset is that it pushes the lip of the wheel out to the fender an inch to be almost flush (but still slightly tucked inside) the 944 fat rear fender.

you should be able to sell those SC fuchs for a pretty penny...

Yeah, but I still have the 911SC, too. I never sell any parts from that car - prices are just jumping too fast. If I ever did sell that car (not likely) the original wheels could be important.

Hey Drew, I have had my 911's wheels on the racecar many times without issue. Also all of your 964 wheels would also work with spacers. I got my spacers from Will.
