924S OE Bodykit
6 Attachment(s)
I am putting on soon the 1988 original Porsche Bodykit made by BBS on my 1988 924S. I have found various pics of installed bodykits and Porsche will do the installation . I checked with Porsche classic and they managwed to find a part number for fitting instructions but no luck finding the instructions !!!! I have found and bought two complete bodykits ( pretty rare as no one seems to like them ) and will be putting one on and keep the other as spare. If anyone has retrofitted this OE body and/or has the fitting instructions that would be great help. Posting some pics of the bodykit i have ( will be repainted etc ) and how it looks on a 924S

..anyone.. has anyone fitted one of these ????

Iirc these were only offered in Europe. The rear diffuser definitely utilizes Dick Soderberg's patent that was also used on the 951/S2 and offered as option code M472 on the regular 944 from 1987. It wasn't offered for the 924 range so that is probably why the factory allowed BBS to create a specific kit for the 924S. Just my assumption based on some facts.
There is some distant reference in a recent <Flussig Magazine Article> and here's an article that references the designer of that rear diffuser <Dick Soderberg> Looks like a nice kit, a little different which is good. I like it, GL  |
As I have two of these bosdykit, I will be putting one of them on my 1988 924S in a coupleof weeks. Will be posting pictures once its installed.

If you like this than you must like that! I would not like to drill holes in my car either since this process can't be reversed. GL |

I'm sure some quality automotive polyurethane sealer/adhesive would work,

I have this body kit on my '83 924 but I did not use front lip as I have 931 front end. |
Also, it was factory part with 944.xxx.xxx part numbers not just BBS aftermarket kit (though there is BBS logo on the parts together with Porsche symbol).

Drill away, says I.
As an alternative, I'd ask these guys: https://www.porscheshop.co.uk/porsch...6-to-1989.html |
I have the fitting instructions and according to them there are 24 spots to drill holes ( !!!) . I am very skeptical to do this and some bodykit shop's advice was to use ultra strong glue and sealant only . will that suffice to keep everything in place and safe ???

In a word - yes.
Panel bonding adhesives are used to repair entire panels. Automix Panel Bonding Adhesive |
