Definitely get the crank polished up and mic the #2 journal, or have a machine shop do it. Also have them check the rod out. As Van said, most likely its out of round. If the cut it you need all 4 rods balanced to match weights up. Should be pretty cheap for this service

I would highly suggest a crank scraper/windage tray if possible. Oil aeration is a big problem on these engines. I instantly improved oil pressure by 1 bar (15psi) after installing mine, under all temperatures. Hot oil pressure stayed at or above 2 bar at idle when coming off track on my modified '86 Turbo. Oil was the exact same spec Mobil 1 15w-50.

I second the suggestions 944CS makes. Also a turbo oil cooler. Keeping oil cool and free of aeration is the key. Although I would never use Mobil oil. Try Amsoil and see how much cooler it runs. Also has lots of zinc which is important.
