Radiator - What's recommended?

I was just talking about OEM (not Porsche branded). I got a L&R (OEM for Porsche) for mid $200's last year. It even had the Porsche part number and diamond dremeled off. Now you can find those for much less than $400 if that.

Oh, yes! L&R, as in Laengerer & Reich! I forgot about that (brain fart). I'm so used to seeing to many acronym based brand names out there. I bet that's fine Someone mentioned Modine...I'd be careful as almost all that stuff is made in either China and Mexico.

Looks like the one I got. It's in but it took a lot of modifying.
- tabs too wide to sit in notches on fan (trimmed them)
- tabs too thick for stock flat nuts and bolts (bought thicker nuts and longer bolts)
- had to trim fan shroud to clear hoses
Then the big one- tabs to receive the rad retaining rubbers about 1/4" out. I had to grind them off and reweld in correct spots. Looked like they had measured to the furthest point forward, unfortunately the OE one has the plastic ends 1/4" back from the fins and alum one was flat right across.

so I spent money for trash.
I neither have time nor welding skills to fix this crap.
what a waist of ressources.

I purchased a special fabricated fan shroud and fans from C&R Racing, Indianapolis to fit the shown aluminum radiator. I have not attempted to install the radiator, but I am confident there are no issues with the fan shroud and fans interference. I mocked up the special design and worked with C&R to finalize design

I would have returned the aluminum rad if I hadn't already modified it. At a quick look it seemed ok except for the fan tabs so I changed them. It was only when I tried to fully install it I found the mounting tabs in wrong position. I ground them off and found a local welding shop to reweld in proper place. He charged $40, and I'm happy to say the Seller reimbursed it. If there is a next time, I will be getting a proven OE style.

I've priced out Ron Davis which I believe was just over $800. High quality but pretty expensive. I will most likely go with Wizard Cooling when it's time and I rebuild everything. Their unit $579 but I believe it was on sale around Christmas. The turbo and NA radiators run the same price from them.

Has anyone already tried the Wizard Cooling radiators? Their price $570 is about the same as OEM. Their radiator is all aluminum and made in the States.
