Default Clicking under dash

Got a clicking under the driver side dash on my S2. What is it? Clicks about every 12-15 seconds. Some kind of rely? I know it's not the cruise control since I unplugged it and I still hear clicking.

do you have any problems with your interior lights? I found a source of my clicking like you described was a relay being triggered by a shorting door switch for the interior lights. i had spare switches that i swapped in to fix it.

Sounds like auto climate control solenoids...how's your heat situation? Are you stuck on heat? My S had same symptoms, and that plastic doodad for the flapper door control arm was broken, triggering full heat scenario. Cost like $2 to fix.

Actually everything works perfectly currently expect for the cruise control. Could this be relating to AC when it's on. I think I'll check.

you guys need to see this timely thread on pelican

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...k-your-ac.html

I actually went ahead and removed the actuator (~$55 per our host, shipped from Germany) and I did confirm that it was bad, and for the reason I described. I admit I am not that smart- I do commercial HVAC and this is a common issue for old pneumatic actuators, and they exhibit the same symptoms.

As soon as little vacuum gets pulled, the diaphragm exposes this tear and the vacuum is lost, so both solenoids go CLICK CLICK.

My solenoid that controls vacuum to the heater control valve is losing power causing a clicking behind the glove box. Mine causes the air to get hot b/c the solenoid loses power opening the HCV. After a couple seconds the solenoid gets its power back and the air is nice and cold again. Anyone ever had this problem, or know what supplies power(or takes it away) from the solenoid?

Check the interior cabin temp sensor part # 944 624 013 00
If it fails, nothing works right. It clicks on and off and is right in that area behind the glove box.

I replaced the interior cabin temp sensor although the one I replaced it with was used. It's got a little fan in it that sucks in air. Any input on testing one other than just seeing it spin/pull air? I noticed it looked to have an element or something in it. What are the odds of two of them causing the same exact symptom? Thanks for the input.
