Default 87 944NA towing Question

I need to tow my 87NA. While I'd like to put it on a car carrier it won't start so driving it up the ramps is a bit difficult. Pushing it up is unappealing.

I'm thinking of using a tow dolly and pulling it from the front wheels. But I understand this is bad for the transaxle. Is this possible to tow from the front wheels if I pull the axles out of the back end or does this make the rear wheels unstable?

Going to pull it about 700 miles.
