lexan rear hatch question
Hey guys,
Just wondering what people are using as far as shocks for a lexan rear hatch on their cars ?
My OEM shocks are way too strong for my lightweight hatch and i'm always afraid it's going to crack at one point ...
Since it's a race car and i have a 10 gallon fuel cell it gets opened up a lot
and i'm curious as to another alternative !
If anybody has a toasted/weak set of shocks lying around, i'm willing to trade for my good ones

Yeah, going to remove the shocks tomorrow ... my car is actually underweight,i have to add 60 lbs of ballast to make the 2600 lb PCA rule !
I took a hit in the left rear last season and the latches don't line up anymore,i have to use rubber tie down straps and i didn't like the idea of
still using the shocks anyways ...
If anybody could post some pics of their solutions it would be nice !

I use a short broomstick prop rod, but I'd be interested in making a hinged permanent prop rod, as I have forgotten the other one in there by mistake during a track session. Let's see some pics.
