Default Help in CT anyone Local? 84 timing She*t

Hello, I am having the toughest time with the timing belt stuff on my 944, bought the car as a project with my father and we cant get the timing belt to stop making noise. I have the AW 920X tool to do the tensioning, but it always seems to make it tight. but I'm not sure what to compare it to since I've never done a belt on one of these cars. If anyone is local and would like to give me a hand it would be greatly appreciated.

I replied to your other post with a snapshot of the parts diagram. I'm a few hours away and kind-of booked up until next Sunday but PM me if you still need a hand by then...

I just bought a 951 and have to do the belt too. I'm not far, in Windsor. I know it's no help to you, but if you're interested in loaning the tools, let me know. I'd be interested in meeting up and knowing what you know.

Is your car white? I see someone on Craigslist with a 951 in Windsor looking to trade wheels. If that is your car it's pretty sharp looking.

Yeah Coventry. I'd love the help. Our car is that tan color. Got it for 700 with a snapped belt lol

So, you've replaced the head, too?

Yes. Head has been totally done. Car runs amazing except this issue. It killed a timing tensioner already but I caught it in time.
