They don't mention 944 82-85. They do have the 924 and 911 that cover those years and I think used the same seats, but there were two different versions of sports seats for that timespan. The sport seats from 80-84 used a two-piece bottom cushion and I don't see anything like that in the options. Anybody know more than me about this?

I do have an update. I am really really satisfied.
The bunching/ wrinkling has basically smoothed out and gone away. People said this would happen but i am still surprised. Its really cool. They look amazing and make my interior so nice. There are no problems at all.

I would go for it! I could post pics but I am in vietnam.

Hey @bonus12 very interested in your results after a year. How do your seats look now they are broken in?

Thanks!

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but did 944's come with vinyl seats standard and leather seats as an upgrade?

I'll post some pics of mine up. Went with the black sport seat option and I've had them in the car, daily driven, since summer of 2015. They've held up fairly well but they do show wear faster than a factory seat cover. Nothing to crazy, just a bit of wear on the driver side bolster from getting in/out.

Plus the leather has bonded to the foam on my seats and will tear the foam when removing the current covers so they can take care of that as well.
I recently installed the only944 seats in my 88 924S. They look fantastic, and only took 9 hours total to install. Trust me, if I could do it, any mostly functional person can.

For $400.00 I think you did very well!, with time and a steamer I think the small wrinkles will settle down a bit and look even better! I have a '84 dark brown interior that needs front seat covers, I would definitely consider this brand!

Hi, people have asked me about these via private messages. So here is a little public update. I have had these on for a while now! Unfortunately drivers lower seat developed a rip last year which spread quickly. It was because the leather material was too thin. So it's a waste.

I'm sorry to have to tell you about the rip. They are still really amazing otherwise @ a great price. I do want to try again and redo the lower driver seat..

Any questions more!?!?
Good Luck all

I have the only 944 covers on my sport seats. They are the seats on the sight and have been in the car for quite some time now. They look great and look extremely close to stock. If you don't mind them being vinyl, you will be very happy.

I have pictures of before and after with only 944 covers for my 88 924S. I'm very pleased with the results. It took nine hours to complete.

The interior had been converted to black. It originally was Porsche light grey. It is again now.

I reupholstered the front seats with the kit from only944.com. I dyed the back seat, door cards, etc. and installed a molded dash cover.

The passenger seat before the change

The drivers seat. Not very inviting when I brought it home.

I would be willing to let go of my late sport seats for the right price.

I have used Lseat covers on two separate projects, one was a 1989 BMW E30 with sport seats and the other a 1992 Volvo 240.

Here are notes from my two experience:

- They are not fast, you need to be patient with them.
- Emails sometimes take a while to be answered.
- I never had any issues with getting an incorrect order.
- They offer, at least they did, a 50% discount if you provide them with a seat cover that they don't have to use as a pattern. This was the case with both the BMW and Volvo back seat. Seams everyone only usually recovers the front seats.
- The covers are 100% leather, no vinyl.
- The leather is thick and should wear well. And has a nice deep leather smell.
- The leather has a deep grain and matched the BMW and Volvo fine, but would probably not be a good match if you are looking for a napa leather smoothness.
- Having used another custom seat cover set on a Triumph TR6 project I am not a fan of Lseat's inner foam lining. It is not "slippery" when pulling down over the factory foam. I overcame this with a very thin material that I had left over from taking my old seats apart.
- The wrinkles do work their way out. I also found that with new seat foams the wrinkles are less noticeable. A little, not a lot, of extra cotton batting on the upper and lower side bolsters goes a long way of "filling out" these troublesome areas.
- I prefer the no piping option.
- I found the leather to be more "workable" if it was nice and warm.

I would use them again.

Mine ripped.

I started this thread back when I installed the new leather. That was not a long time ago. The driver's seat has ripped in multiple locations and the piping is breaking, too. Such a shame. So I take back all my positive reviews and am waiting to get some professional-quality leather seats.

It was fun while they lasted, but they can't be part of a nice car because I'm getting mine painted soon, and I'll get the seats reupholstered.
