Rear Seat Delete carpet kit

Hi All:
I have been researching for a rear seat delete solution for my 951.
I came across this company: http://appbiz.com/ that primarily deals with air cooled Porsches.
Turns out they have made in the past a RS style carpet kit for the 944.
The owner Bob emailed me the installation manual with detailed photos of the kit.
I'm going to redo my whole black on black interior in a plush gray carpet with black binding. But he has plenty of colors to choose from.
If anyone else is interested I'll be glad to email a PDF of the installation manual.
Just PM your email address to me.
Jim

There's also a link to the PDF I created when developing that kit with Bob, I think it's on the fifth or sixth page of the thread. Good luck with the install, I had a few pieces that required some custom fitting but overall I've really enjoyed the transformation of the interior. Don't forget to post some pics once you have it installed.

Thanks for the replies!
Bob mentioned to me that he has received renewed interest in 944s, and is thinking of doing another run.
MJ, your car turned out awesome!

I recently bought a couple rolls of unbacked automotive carpet (it's similar to felt, actually) and will be giving it a go myself. I don't know how it'll turn out but I figured at $45 for the carpet it wasn't a big risk. Once the weather warms up a bit, I'll be spending a weekend cutting and fitting carpet.

Thanks JimLam, again good luck with your project.

SloMo, it's doable. Carefully remove the existing carpets and use them as templates the best you can. Check out the PDF linked in the thread above if you haven't already done so. For the custom pieces I had I found an employee at a fabric store who was willing to do the edge seaming for me and that worked great. I would give her the cut pieces and seaming material with instruction on what was needed for the particular piece or pieces and picked them up a few days later. Repeat until finished, good luck.

Just an FYI, the carpet kit with rear seat delete that I developed and documented here, http://www.revline.se/diverse/951RS_...eat_Delete.pdf was started with AppBiz. I struggled to get a good fit with a few of the pieces that were sent and in the end modified those and had them finished locally. Post up some pics once you have your kit installed. Good luck.

Hey Mj951, I've seen your posts and have the PDF of your kit! I was curious if you ever took measurements of each piece? I haven't been able to find anything, but I may just be looking in the wrong spots... Hoping to just buy some fabric and do a beginners job in the next few weeks as I'm taking the car with me to Colorado for a month long ski trip.

I did not make templates.
