Default 924 LSD DIFF IN PORSCHE 944 TURBO

Hello everyone,
I'm new here.
I recently bought a 1986 944 Turbo.
The vehicle is equipped with the 5P model code gearbox without LSD.
I want to upgrade the differential to a limited slip diff.
All the options I found online are very expensive (between $1500-$2000), but I also found out there's an OBX LSD for Porsche 924 Turbo, for a more reasonable price of $500.

It's the 215 Turbo Trans 24 with 43 tooth Axle Stub Spline (924).
Shouldn't the transmission of the 924 be similar to the 944 gear box?
Could it fit or can be adapted with minor changes?

No, it will not work. The 924 Turbo had a different transmission than the 944 series cars. Some of the 924 normally aspirated cars (ie, non-turbo) used a four-speed type 016 transmission from the same family as the 944 series, but not the 924 Turbo.

If you have the torsion bar housing, torque tube & snail shell (915 innards, including a ZF LSD) you can do it, but would be easier to buy a 951 box with LSD.
Here is a picture of one of mine

The 016Y &Z and the G31/01, G31/02, G31/03 could be had with 40% locking differentials (LSD) which are the late fine spline 930 ZF disc type LSD. (P/N 930.332.053.03) The G31/30 and G31/50 had the same LSD but it was set to 40% or 80% locking by changing the order of the discs and plates.

This is a good read & will tell you the differences.

s4 diff would fit but the diff housing has to be machined.

I have a good used but rebuily factory ZF LSD for your tranny. PM or email if interested.
