tod84944. A hint...right-click save as will give you a corrupt file. Use any external download manager that is seperate from your browser. I happen to use GetRight, which you can get a free trial of on Download.Com . Im on day 449 of my free trial .

Yeah, that site has questionable bandwidth. you definately need a download manager as techno duck stated.
Also verify the file size.

I got them just to make sure they worked, then deleted them... so, they do work.

(edit ) GetRight works when you do a ( Ctrl-Click ) , which in Mozilla firefox is something else, so you may have to use IE and do a Ctrl+Click

I got the PET download but can't figure out how to install and open it. It's still in my Download/My Documents file. Do I need to move it to Windows or something?

Not sure what your saying Bart. Drop the zip file onto your desktop and unzip it. Then with the files that get installed, run the PET Setup file. Install the program on your system and...just run it.

um...after "a friend of mine" finished downloading the turbo supplement, it was about 65 megs, but when "my friend" opens it, it says the file is corrupt, and adobe attempted a repair, but failed. What can he do?

"Your friend" should have used GetRight to download the manual in the first place. The bandwidth on the site is far to unreliable to do it without it.

I have ordered PET at my local Porsche dealer - 000.043.400.05 - but haven't received it yet. I'll post when/if I receive it. No ETA at this point, but the dealer has confirmed that it exists and that this is the part number.

I'm not sure i'd call that fair use (unless you made the copy yourself, and even then i'm not sure its a fair use since its transformative use)... But its a use that's benign enough that nobody is going to come after you for it and it SEEMS fair and equitable...
