I got a chance to visit where I have my car stored today, the cage doesn't have any firehawk tech stickers, that I could see. But then again, it ran 30 SCCA IT races from 88 - 97, and the cage is covered in Central Florida Region SCCA tech stickers.

What size wheels did the clubsport cars have? 7.5 and 9, or wider? It looks like most of the cars raced on BBS 3 piece wheels, the one above looks a little odd with the center piece outside the outer lip.

Curious as to if the magnesium Fuchs on the '91 S2 were originally a solid, or metallic, white finish?... thinking of having mine redone. Could be wrong, but the only reference would be the earlier Turbo Cup wheels which - from my faded memory - were metallic white.

As far as I have ever seen, the original mag cup phone dials were all originally pearl white finish. Especially in the cup series, some were color matched to the cars' graphics. And a lot have been repainted solid white over the years.

Going back thru series pics from early 90's, the Firehawk teams did run a mix of wheels. The mag phone dials were common, as were the 16" BBS E50's.

I scored an NOS one a while back, pearl White as odd job stated. I'm going to have a set of dials powder coated Pearl White, Richard at PowderTech-Plus can match the correct color, for the Pearl White 86 Turbo (for sale)

Are these cars street legal? If not, what is required to make them street legal?

From the factory they were Street Legal. Mine was registered and driven on street by one of the PO's.

The ad mentions "estimated horsepower around 260". I've heard there were mods to the DMEs on these cars, possibly proprietary maps, also there were cam mods done. If anyone has more specific information, like where a person might get hold of a dump from one of those DMEs or specifics on cam profiles used, I'd sure like to know about it

Does anyone have details on other performance mods made to get 260 out of a NA 3.0L? Obviously porting/polishing I expect, what about the exhaust? Did they run cats? 3"? 4"? Ceramic intake? Different valves? I guess I'm asking if it was just "all the usual suspects" or if there may have been others I'm not familiar with? It seems they managed to get stock turbo performance out of an NA engine with no turbo lag and much more low end torque, I'd like to know as much as I can about how they did it if anyone is willing to share...

Don't believe the cars had 260hp, (can you say type-o) even at the crank. I understand some teams ran a different exhaust cam that bumped up HP a bit. If you looking for HP, look to Michael Mount. He can be found here on RL and is based in MD and is a good guy and has probably build the highest HP S2 or 968 motors available today.

So Rocket? Which chip did you put in that Firehawk and how's it working out?

I'm mostly interested in a chip that can handle E10 and maybe E15 someday.

PS: Why aren't you Rocketman#63?
