Default What is this missing piece on my sunroof?

Hi all, I just got my 951 back from the paint shop and they took the sunroof out to paint it.

I just noticed that there seems to be something missing from my sunroof.

As you can see by the pic below, there are 4 screw holes in the leather in the center front of the sunroof, but I don't remember what was there. (The car was in the shop for a long time.)

You can also see the tongue of the "Center Sunroof Support" that's coming out from under the leather.

Is that "Center Sunroof Support" supposed to be mounted on the outside of the leather, screws going through the leather?

Thanks!

Thanks guys, how are the plastic caps attached? Anyone have a photo? I've got to show the paint shop what to look for, they probably have the missing pieces in the shop somewhere.

the big hole in the center should have a small bolt. Between the liner and roof there is a plastic spacer as well. This will keep it from sagging.

Thanks SOB, if no one has a photo, can you look at this parts diagram and tell me which parts I should be looking for? http://www.944online.com/cgi-bin/ASI...9441+body-9441

Also, from the diagram, it looks like the Sunroof Head Liner is sandwiched between the Sunroof Panel and the Center Sunroof Support. Is that correct?

you need the part NOT called out on the drawing. Basically the bolt etc around #19 and #20.

Weird that I can't seem to google a picture of the interior of the sunroof showing this area.

OK, I think I got it now...

The Center Sunroof Support goes in between the liner and the sunroof.

The CSS's three mounting screws go through the liner and the CSS into the sunroof. (The paint shop mounted the CSS with the screws under the liner, instead of through it.)

The 4th center screw is missing completely, and it also goes through the liner.

Does this sound right?

No that is not correct. The three outside ones have plugs in them ( if you look in the whole there should be Allen head screws in them) . The center one has a screw in it that does go through the liner. It has a plastic washer and then a plastic cap ( same one that is on the trim piece at the back by the hatch). The plugs on the other holes are the same as the a pillar plugs.

if you really still need a picture, I can take one of my car - but it seems you have it figured out now so I won't bother.
