Redline of this Supra is 8500 rpms. Actually we can push it to 9000 rpms if we want to be on the ragged edge.

Amen to that brother! My car looks like **** right now. It runs perfect, but you wouldn't tell from seeing it goin' down the road... yet when someone meets me and finds out I have a 944...

"It's really in need of some cosmetics right now."
"Yeah, dude, but you have a PORSCHE!"

a beater 944 N/A is still more impressive than a well-kept ricer

Don't take this the wrong way. Cheapest way and most original would be to buy a Volvo
A volvo 740 turbo add larger turbo + boost + nos = 12second car + LSD = low 12's
its rediculous on how fast you can make these volvo's go for such little money.

Here is a volvo spanking a TURBO 240sx and a TURBO 300zx
Note : he was only on 15psi I can contest the volvo usually will run 25psi if he really wants to go..

here is the same car (notice at 1:04 he purges Nitrous and also you hear a guy say "yea and 25psi" or something like that.

Tim: I wasn't trying to talk down the supra at all, it's awesome. It's just a very different approach to power than the 944.

Dfastest951 is making over 500HP and 500TQ, but I believe he also said it came with a six-figure price tag.

As most of you know I beat up on camaro birds etc with my 951. My dad used have a new body supra turbo car. I must say that while heavy feeling it turned far more heads than my P-car does althouhg that back when the supra was still pretty much new. I always wonder why there aren't many gonzo hp 951's out there, I mean they do it with other cars hondas etc. but there are seldom any 951's that put 5 or 6 down to the wheels. Remember that just up the road is a 520 fwhp civic and a 580+ fwhp civic! I have lots of competition around here thats why I own a 9 second street mustang! Anyway enough of my bull$hit, Buy a supra leave the nice 951's to purists.

bad coupe there is this thing called a transmission and our's will not handle that kind of power.... plus only way to get that power is to go with a 3.0L block and then turbo it if you want to get in the 700hp crank range..

yeah unfortunately I know, I've broke a cross pin (went to torsen unit since), a stub axle (hard to find), and shattered 2 axles (neither while racing luckily)

surely there's way to do it besides drag racing is about the only time that stuff is really stressed isn't it? Someone has to make some good cv's etc. I can get the stub axles stress relieved and then hardened to allow them to survive or just have some custom ones made, there's plenty of hella machine shops round here. they always seems to break around one of the machining changes where stress is highest if they'd relieved that particular area it wouldn't be prominent. My .02 not always worth much!

In regards to tuning a Volvo 740 turbo -- my dad pulled out the old engine and put in a Ford 302 with carbs. It was a strange mix but worked surprisingly well. He was able to make all his money back when he sold it too!

How about 500 rwhp from a 928 with no engine mods other than a supercharger/intercooler? Kits are being prepared, two have already been delivered. Check out these threads:

How To Gain an Additional 226.5 HP in a Weekend...

1,000+ horsepower 928S4 picture

The car that produced the dyno sheet in the first link is still being tuned. His most recent dyno run was just over 500 rwhp.
