924 Carrera GT replica.
I thought I'd post up a couple of my car which is slowly nearing completion. It's been over 18 months so far and a bit of a struggle if I'm being honest and I wouldn't recommend anyone doing one!!
The idea was to build a replica that wasn't, ie, I wasn't trying to make out I had then genuine article, just that I had a very nice car that was a replica. It will be my idea of what a Martini version of the GT would have been if they'd made one. All will become apparent when it's complete.
It's also been a money pit but, I think she'll be a 'good' replica when finished, hopefully!

To try and do it properly so the rear wings would fit as per the originals was an absolute pig of a job, it took weeks to get right but, the finished fit does look good now.

The finished looks great! Jealous of your sparkly new Fuchs too! Is going to be a cosmetic replica? Have you done or plan to do any suspension and/or engine work? What are your other plans for the body? Are you going to match the GT body exactly? Awesome project!

The bodywork is complete now, it's just the interior that needs finishing off. At the moment all the seats are at the trimmers being re-covered as per the Martini seats as found in the early Martini 924's.
Hopefully when everything is put together, it will look good!

Money pit, yeah, but I LOVE the results. The 924 Carrera GT is, IMHO, one of the best looking cars out there. I have wanted to build my own replica but I just don't have the time/money/skills to make it happen.

Hopefully the link will work. This is the trim I purchased, there is a hollow one but I was worried about it 'kinking' on the corners and not looking right.

There will be a 'phase two' which will be the running gear but, it's a long way off as I want to enjoy the car a bit first before she's taken off the road again!
I'm not sure which way to go, as I've based mine on the 'S' I am considering 'cheating' and just dropping a S2 3.0 engine and running gear in but, I'm not going to worry too much about it for a while.
