Exclamation need quick help!

I just pulled my engine and now need to mount it on the engine stand, but I can't remove the clutch. I need to know what size and typ of bolts hold the clutch on. They look to be star shaped. I have a couple of sockets like that that I used for my 944 NA rebuilds, but none of them seem to fit the bolts on my 88 951. Any help would be great!
Thanks
Chris

Check out this discussion of a 951 clutch job. i think the driver you need is an 8mm 12 point. Good luck

Chris, Mike is correct, the socket is also called a "triple square socket" thus the 12 points 3X4=12... I purchased the correct ones for P cars from my Snap On tool guy, but they are quite expensive and they don't come as a set, so to speak.
However you can purchase a "cheap" set at an Auto Zone in a set, they are all six pointed on the opposite end allowing you to drive the with a simple 1/2 in. socket.

I have found the cheap sets as you described to be totally inferior. They always bend on me and I end up buying the snap on version. So far I have a 8mm snap on for the rear axles and a 10mm snap on for the cam bolt. The snap on tools are much stronger.
I find that I end up messing up the bolts using the cheap tools.
