Mine is plumbed with the throttle body before the supercharger, so there is no bypass or blow-off valve at all.

I'm sure you've seen this picture before but this is for reference:

Thanks Elliot. I've stared at that pic quite a bit. I'm going to use a very similar routing for my piping.

Did you have belt slippage issues?

I will chime in for a bit and offer a couple thoughts.

Putting the tb ahead of the blower is much simpler and reliable.

You will have belt slip if you don't use maximum belt wrap and a couple idlers.

Make sure to use an inter cooler. It'll last much longer.

Josh can get you a good base tune. You'll want to add the map sensor.

It's been quite a long time since I had the sc car of mine, but I drove it for 3 years and probably 15,000 miles.

It was fun, however, knowing what I know now (and the fact that Josh can do a good tune)..

I would just swap pistons and rods, get factory turbo parts ie; headers, crossover, manifold etc and adapt a Garrett 2871.

Oh man, your going to love that instant throttle response.

Hey Blown 944. when was that picture at Bandimere taken? I raced club clash and several street ET events for years. I just haven't been there in about 2 years now.

I think spring 2012

I raced the black one pretty much every weds of 2012. Along with a few king street events and an import race.

Prior to that, it was my red 951 and prior again was my gold 83.

You might know my old 66 nova better. I used to race all the king streets and shoot outs.

Thanks for the advice blown. Can you elaborate on the position of the TB and why the position of it matters? Also, you say to add a MAP sensor? Did you mean MAF, or are you saying to add MAP?

I am worried about belt slippage, not sure how I'm going to combat that...

Josh's NA Tune uses a MAP if I recall correctly.

I think that was his original idea, but he went with a Mass Air Flow instead.

On Sid's supercharged setup, we basically used a modified M-Tune setup (which uses both MAF & MAP). Keep in mind that Sid was running 16-18psi on ethanol. His setup was well beyond what the NA-Tune was ever designed for.

For those doing a more mild supercharged setup, the NA-Tune will handle the added load (boost), up to around 200rwhp. What is important is upgrading the injectors. The stock NA injectors are well matched for a stock NA. Once we start adding real power, the injectors will max out (they max out around 145rwhp).

Simpler in regards to the fact that you don't need a recirc valve. When using a BoV it adds so much more complexity to the whole process, idle etc. just do much easier

Just plan on trying to wrap the belt as much as possible on the blower.

Also remember that you're dealing with a fairly small crank pulley. You may need to go with a smaller blower pulley.

In regards to MAF/ map, josh will steer you in the right direction.

I think I will leave the TB in the stock position. I will add a bypass valve. I was also on the fence about intercooling, but I think I'll go that route.

I made all my parts lists tonight and I hope to have much of the piping done this weekend.

The plan is to build a 3" outlet from the S/C and reduce down and run 2" all the way including the I/C to keep velocity up running lower boost numbers. I will also run the intake piping from the back of the S/C in 2" then increase up to the MAF which is 2 3/4" and back down to 2 1/2" into a K&N filter. Packaging will be super tight, which is dictating my piping sizes. While not ideal, at my planned boost level it should work fine.

Youll be needing a lot of adapters to make that piping scheme fit...

I found the smallest diameter in the system and made my piping fit that, so that there are no neck-downs.

My IC has 2.5" in/out, 944 throttle body is a little under 2.5", blown944-custom intake manifold has about a 2.5" inlet, so all my pipes are 2.5". Necking down on the ambient/intake side is OK for space reasons and because its under vacuum anyways.

My TB is 3", the Rogue MAF housing is 2 3/4". The Intercooler I'm getting is 2" inlet/outlet.

You're correct in that I'll need a couple different sizes of silicone couplings, fortunately Vibrant Performance, the company that makes all kinds of them, is 10 minutes away.

I built a low boost turbo setup for a friend years ago for his Saturn. We used 2" for the piping and it worked great, plus I have 10' of it leftover.

So the nice weather is here and I finally had a day to do some work on the S/C 944. I got the intercooler mocked up by notching some of the sheetmetal up front which then allowed me to mock up some of the piping. I am using all 304 stainless steel because I am a stainless steel welder by day and my home TIG machine doesn't do aluminum.

Now I have to order some silicone couplings to attach the 2" pipe to the 2 1/4 IC inlet and outlet. I also need to setup a supercharger bypass valve.
